I received excellent care from the Retina Associates of Orange County. The front office and all the staff are pleasant and efficient. Dr. Hwang explained my procedure and took time to answer any questions I had. He has a confident, calm demeanor that puts you at ease at a stressful time knowing you will be under the best of care. My procedure went well, and I am pleased with the outcome.

Office staff are very kind and efficient, they are very good at scheduling appointments, I have been going to Laguna Hills office for over a year, they are very punctual, do not have to wait at all. Dr. Hwang is an excellent retina specialist, extremely polite and kind, and has been able to stabilize and improve my condition.

My mother noticed a decrease in her vision for the past several months.
The optometrist that we normally see referred us to Dr. Hwang because there was something wrong with her retina. It turns out that my mother has “wet” macular degeneration and has been with Dr. Hwang for treatment ever since for about a year now.
I must say Dr. Hwang shows upmost professionalism and has excellent bed-side manner.
I usually take my mother around for doctor’s appointments so I know a good doctor when I see one. He was very gentle with my mother and after the examination, he explained everything to us about what’s going on. I usually have a lot of questions but he was very patient with me which I greatly appreciated.
The news obviously wasn’t good considering the treatment plan may be life-long injections to the eye. My mom doesn’t have very much tolerance to pain so she’s always been very anxious about getting shots in general. You can imagine how uncomfortable she was by the thought of having injections in the eye. However, Dr. Hwang and the staff have been nothing more than accommodating to my mom’s needs which was huge because she told me she felt comfortable being treated by this doctor. My mom was given sufficient time for numbing the eye prior to every treatment and the doctor never rushed us even during busy clinic, which says a lot considering a lot of her doctors are busy rushing us out the door when their waiting room gets crowded.
I usually hate writing long reviews in general, but I felt the need to express my gratitude to this clinic and especially to Dr. Hwang for the kindness they’ve shown to my mother and me over the past year. The other doctors in the clinic were also very nice and accommodating whom we’ve met whenever Dr. Hwang was on vacation. I would recommend anyone with a retina problem to Dr. Hwang and his associates.
